In 2010 she was responsible for relaunching BBC One’s key Saturday primetime series Strictly Come Dancing, reigniting the show’s popularity to its highest ever viewing figures and seeing it go on to become a multi-award winner.
Her expertise in the genre extends beyond the UK, having show-run Dance Wars ABC and supervising producer for two series of Dancing with the Stars in the US also for ABC.
Hailing from Liverpool, Moira holds two beliefs close to her heart: the Beatles are the best band that ever lived and it should be against the law to serve chips without gravy.
Born in Scotland, and based in Edinburgh, Derek’s produced some of Britain’s most successful series. From Bafta-winning children’s show Last Commanders to Wedding Day Winners, he’s helped create formats about everything from social history to home makeovers.
With credits that include: Partners in Rhyme, Phil Spencer’s History of Britain in 100 Homes, Flour Power, Super Shoppers, Location Location Location, Countryside 999 and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Derek’s renowned for both his story-telling ability and versatility.
Previously based in New Zealand as an Executive Producer, he’s also worked on local versions of trailblazing formats: Ground Force, Changing Rooms, House Doctor, Ten Years Younger, and Honey We’re Killing the Kids.
When he isn’t making great telly, Derek’s even turned his love of dining out into a creative outlet. As one half of Edinburgh food bloggers: The Social Bitches, you’ll pretty much find him at the opening of a fridge, and always immaculately dressed.
